2009 IKWF STATE TOURNAMENT

This past weekend three OUTLAW Wrestling Club members earned all state honors at the IKWF State Tournament.


Tony Devriese (Jr. Pioneer W.C.) won the Senior 84 lbs State Championship. Devriese has finished 1st, 3rd, 2nd, 7, 1st, and 1st in his last six years wrestling in IKWF state championships.

Connor Doak (Jr. Pioneer W.C.) won the Novice 122 lbs State Championship, by pinning every opponent. Doak has previously finished 6th, and finished 3rd in the Midget State Series.

Ben West (Jr. Pioneer W.C.) placed 7th. in the Senior 156 lbs bracket. West was a midget state champion, and was a two time All State placer in the novice and senior divisions.

All three wrestlers wrestle for the OUTLAW Wrestling Club, and compete in the off season for the OUTLAW W.C.

!!2009 IHSA STATE TOURNAMENT!!

This past weekend at the Illinois High School Association State Tournament four members of the OUTLAW Wrestling Club earned All State Honors.

Topher Carton, of Alleman H.S. finished his freshman year with a STATE TITLE, and an undefeated season.

Austin Skyles, of Aledo H.S. was runner-up at the 112 lbs. weight class.

Thorian Twiner, of Orion H.S. finished third at the 112 lbs. weight class.

Ethan Ball, also of Aledo H.S. finished third at 152 lbs., Ball also finished his junior year with his 100th. win of his career.

West Cathcart, Geneseo H.S. was the third OUTLAW wrestler to reach the finals of the prestigous IHSA State Tournament. Cathcart finished second in the state.

In the Iowa H.S. State Tournament Drake Chase finished his freshmen year with a 5th. place finish at 112 lbs., and Dominic Chase finished 2nd. at 125 lbs.

Congratulations to all OUTLAW Wrestlers who competed in this years IHSA State Series.

Practice Update-
The first day of practice will be moved from Monday, April 6th., to Monday March 30th.

• $100 per wrestler
• Limited to first 40 wrestlers

• Attend all practices
• Compete with team in 2 tournametns prior to Greco and Freestyle State
• Compete at Greco and Freestyle State

This weekend the Illinois Freestyle State Championships will be underway as of 9 am Saturday Morning. Kids age divisions will start and conclude on Saturday, and the Cadets/Junior will be wrestling on Sunday as well. Good luck to all OUTLAW Wreslters participating this weekend.
